Branching Peach Hammer Coral for Sale - The Peach Hammer coral (Euphyllia ancora) is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral and a must have for those with a love for euphyllia coral. The Peach Hammer tentacles has an orange-brown color with peach tips.
Hammer coral is popular LPS coral amongst reef tank enthusiasts and are a favorite of many saltwater aquarium hobbyist because of the sense of motion they bring to a reef tank. It prefers both moderate to high lighting and flow, and has a semi-aggressive to aggressive temperament. They are found all throughout the Pacific reefs and come in a variety of colors and growth forms.
Hammer corals are one of the three main Euphyllia coral along with Torches and Frogspawns. Hammer Corals are distinguished by their hammer shaped polyps, that extend forming the shape of the anvil at the end of each polyp hence the name hammer coral. Hammer corals sometimes grow in a wall formation while other hammers grow in a branching formation. Either variety makes an excellent show piece coral for a reef aquarium however the branching varieties tend to grow more quickly.
Hammer corals of both varieties come in spectacular colors including orange, gold, blue, purple, green, yellow, pink, peach, rainbow, and even a splattered color morph that has a mix of both green and purple in the tips.
Placement: There should always be plenty of space between the Peach Hammer Coral and other corals or inverts as it can be aggressive with its tentacles. Mount the Peach Hammer Coral on an exposed rock or ledge using IC gel glue, or putty, in the lower two- thirds of the aquarium where they will receive moderate currents and low to moderate lighting.
For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.
As well, the Peach Hammer Coral requires moderate water flow and moderate lighting (PAR 150-250). T5's, Metal Halides, or LED's can all grow Hammer Corals when the proper PAR levels are provided. We recommend a 14-20K color spectrum for best coloration.
