Margarita Turbos require very little attention once introduced in a well-established reef tank with plenty of algae and live rock. These snails are recommended for any aquarium as they are beautiful, beneficial, and require minimal care.

The Margarita Turbo Snail, Turbo sp., is one of the most sought after reef inhabitants. This is because they can consume large amounts of algae, including nuisance hair varieties. Plus, unlike some snails, Margarites pupillus is non-venomous and peaceful towards corals, invertebrates, and other tankmates.

The Margarita Snail has a brown body and smooth, spiral top shape shell and may grow up to 1" as an adult. For best care, they should be kept at cooler water temperatures with other peaceful tankmates. However, most Margarita Snails can adjust to an aquarium with a water temperature as high as 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that it will starve if algae levels become sparse, so they should be supplemented with seaweed. Use an algae clip or wrap a piece of seaweed around a rock and place it next to the glass. To promote shell growth, calcium should be used in the aquarium.
