Short Neon Green Bubble Coral, Plerogyra sinuosa, is a beautiful LPS coral, that originates from the reefs of the Indo-Pacific and is always an attention-grabber in any reef tank.

There are three subspecies within the bubble coral family: grape bubble coral, pearl bubble coral, and simple bubble coral. One of the best choices among these species is the bubble coral Plerogyra sinuosa, also known as the bladder coral, pearl coral, or grape coral.

Bubble Coral is equipped with specialized tentacles that regulate the amount of light which the algae living inside the coral receives. During the day, bubble corals inflate their vesicles to acquire light for photosynthesis, at night the vesicles retract and feeding tentacles emerge. Bubble corals will spend their evening waiting for zooplankton or anything tasty to drift by which they can quickly ensnare, and passed along to the coral mouths in the center of the polyps.

Bubble coral placement, for example, needs sufficient space because they possess long, stinging tentacles. Usually, their tentacles are retracted, but they extend after dark when the coral feeds. If you place another coral too close, they may be stung. It is recommended that all coral pieces in your saltwater aquarium be no less than 6 inches apart. They are a fairly hardy large polyp stony coral and can be kept in mixed reefs as well as coral systems designed specially for LPS corals.

Lastly, for continued good health, it will also need the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.

As well, It will benefit from additional food fed weekly in the form of brine shrimp or micro-plankton
