As its colorful common name implies, this eye-catching aquaculture variety of Montipora coral flaunts gorgeous coloration showcasing rich shades of purple, red, and green polyps and is peaceful reef inhabitant, that will not bother other neighboring corals. However, be sure to provide ample space away from other corals as it can grow quickly under ideal conditions.
Once the coral is established in your reef tank and with proper reef husbandry this coral can take off in growth.
Montipora corals can grow in very unique growth patterns. They come in a variety of colors adding some very nice eye candy to your reef tank and because Rainbow Montipora is a hardy coral, it’s a great option as a beginner coral to try your hand at SPS.
Diet & Nutrition: The majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. It will benefit from supplemental feedings in the form of micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates. A daily broadcast feeding while return and circulations pumps are stopped will ensure the corals have the ability to consume the nutrients they require.
